I have created a new blog as a source of information for members of the Kantorei Tokyo Yokohama (and for anybody else).

As the choir‘s members are mostly Japanese and German, the blog is in German and as much Japanese as I can provide ;)

We start with the rehearsal schedule, the program of this year‘s christmas concert and a profile/link section.

I think everybody had a lot of fun with Yoko Uchida (piano), Kenichi Uchiyama (bass) and Alexander Naji (guitar, vocals) .
We played at Z∙imagine, Gaienmae, and the people made it a very nice atmosphere. Thanks to everyone who came to be with us there!

Japanese Songs, Bossa, Standards, Pop: it all became Jazz!
The setlist included Japanese songs as akai kutsu, furusato and originals like Velvet Memory and Great Days (by Yuko) - Bossa pieces as Desafinado, Girl from Ipanema (with a vocal appearance of Kenichi) or Moon and Sand - an a couple of standards as Stolen Moments, The Lady is a Tramp, What a wonderful World and a very silent duo (piano and vocal) combi-version of Misty and My funny Valentine.

Great Jazz night with Yoko Uchida (piano), Kenichi Uchiyama (bass) and Alexander Naji (guitar, vocals) on

October 6, 2010, 19:30 (start), 19:00 (open).

We will play at the conveniently located, yet intimate, Z∙imagine, Gaienmae, close from Shibuya and Omotesando.

Japanese Songs, Bossa, Standards, Pop: it all becomes Jazz!

Preparing for Kantorei’s Christmas concert

These are the pieces we will (probably) perform for our Christmas concert on Dec 12, 2010. This year’s concert will be at St. Michael, Nakameguro, Tokyo.
Rehearsals start on Monday, Sept 6, 19:30, at the Gloria Chapel / Shinagawa Church.
