With his background as a classical singer, Alexander Naji is the natural choral-conductor. However, he also enjoys working with an orchestra. He has worked with various choirs - with a repertoire from early renaissance to modern pop-music. Part of this work has always been arranging music for the specific needs of the ensemble. This is especially the case when working with young singers, like a school‘s choir.
Since 2005 he is the conductor of the Kantorei Tokyo Yokohama, a choir of the German-speaking churches in Tokyo, Kreuzkirche and St. Michael. In 2008 he started working with the Kammerchor (chamber choir) St. Cecilia Tokyo, whose members are voice students from the Tokyo University of the Arts (Tokyo Geijutsu Daigaku).
In Summer 2009 Alexander Naji joined the Sarteano Chamber Choral Workshop (with Simon Carrington) as a full conductor. In Summer 2010 he studied further orchestral conducting at the Conductors’ Academy Workshop (with Jonathan Brett) in Estonia.

クラシック音楽の歌い手としての経験を持つアレクサンダー・ナジにとって、合唱指揮に取り組むのは自然なことであった。しかし合唱のみでなくオーケストラの指揮も本人は好きだという。
これまで様々な合唱団を指揮し、ルネッサンス初期から現代ポピュラー音楽まで幅広い作品に取り組んできたが、その活動には合唱団用への楽曲の編曲も含まれる。特に若年層のメンバーから成る合唱団（例えば学校の合唱団）の場合、編曲の作業が必要となることが多い。
２００５年には東京横浜ドイツ語教会（ドイツ語福音教会およびドイツ語カトリック教会）合唱団指揮者に就任。２００８年には、東京藝術大声楽科学生有志による＜室内合唱団セイント・セシリア東京＞を指揮。
２００９年夏にはサルテアノ室内合唱ワークショップ（講師：サイモン・キャリントン、イェール大学合唱指揮名誉教授、元キングズシンガーズ）に参加
